- Warren Whitcomb – Came
to see what the Selectboard has to say about the Sidewalk Project Petition, he
feels that there are enough signatures and that it warrants the Selectboard
revisit the issue. Keith Hall sited the V.S.A. Title 19, § 905 “Construction
of sidewalks, bicycle paths and footpaths” He told Mr. Whitcomb that it is
State money that is paying for most of this project; and he is all for having
sidewalks. Mr. Whitcomb replied that 10% of that money is being paid by the
Town, and it is not in the budget as such and if the budget were to get voted
down, that would be the end of the sidewalks. After more discussion, Burt
Allen made a motion to have the Sidewalk Petition put on the Warning for Town
Meeting, seconded by Paul Audy. Keith Hall did not agree with this motion, he
is not in favor of putting the petition on the Warning because it has already
been voted on. Claire Van Buren asked the Selectboard how they wanted it
worded on the Warning. Paul Audy said exactly as is; it will be just like the
king house was last year; it will be open for discussion.
Work on Budget:
- Paul Audy made a motion
to approve the Road Budget, seconded by Burt Allen. All agreed.
- Paul Audy made a motion
to approve the General Fund Budget, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Paul Audy made a motion
to approve the Warning, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
