Work on budget

Roads:

Discussion of resurfacing and the costs, special attention to not surfacing any new roads, just resurface of ones that really need it. Keith Hall said he would like to see the road crew pay more attention to the dirt roads, by keeping them graded and putting gravel on them.

Barb Torian and Katie Reilley have been working on a road plan putting  numbers together to get a clear picture of when to spend money on certain roads. This is a slow process, but should be in place for next year.

General Fund:

Land Use – stay the same

Lister’s: Discussing the Town going through a rolling reappraisal this year. This means the Lister’s would visit every house over a four year period and the fifth year would be when the reappraisal takes affect.

Lawn and Park Maintenance Agreement – The Selectboard would like to renew the contract with Allen Swain. Pam Kingman will contact Allen Swain.

Parks and Recreation Committee: Suzy Roorda gave an overview of several things they would like to accomplish in the coming year. Such as: staining the gazebo, pruning trees on the Village Green and the large spruce at the south end of the park needs to be removed.  Mrs. Roorda is hesitant about removing the tree because she thought it was memorialized to someone. Just recently, Central Vermont Public Service cut the top off of the tree because it was interfering with their wires. The River Park driveway really needs attention there is a large crevasse that runs down the center of it. There also needs to be a culvert there to direct water flow. Also at the River Park, several ball teams have expressed an interest in using the ball field that is down there. Burt Allen suggested the ball teams and coaches come and talk to the Selectboard.

Architect, Peter Morris is willing to do a public meeting on the design for the new Town Offices, the Selectboard would like to consider having this meeting soon.
