Town of New Haven Emergency Selectmen’s Meeting

Present: Burt Allen, Paul Audy, Keith Hall and Pam Kingman

AGENDA:

Read and approve minutes from October 2, 2007 meeting, make corrections if needed.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Garbage bins on the Village Green – Burt Allen will talk to Phil Busier about emptying the bins on the Village Green. Burt Allen will contact Casella Waste Management about getting a tote from them to replace the blue bins on the Village Green.
• Aaron Gingras – Has agreed to check the outside doors of the Town Hall on a nightly basis starting immediately. Paul Audy made a motion to have Aaron Gingras check the building for one month as a trial. Seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
• Deborah Lundbech – Town Librarian, applied for a grant towards the geo-thermal heating system in the new Town Office. Unfortunately she did not receive the grant
• Roads update, action items include:

1. ’99 International: new dump box – Burt Allen and Keith Hall will meet at the Town Shed on Thursday, November 1, 2007 to look over.
2. Work Logs – Phil Busier has submitted his logs for April 2, 2007 – October 26, 2007. Keith Hall and Burt Allen will talk to Scott Busier about submitting his work logs.
3. Paving – Campground Road - No action taken at this time.
4. Employee Applications for the Road Crew – Paul Audy made a motion to have Pam Kingman set up interviews. Seconded by Burt Allen. All agreed.
5. Road Crew is finishing up Pearson Road putting culverts in by the Rattlin’ Bridge to prepare the area for paving before the bridge reopens in December. The Road Crew has also been cutting trees in the area to allow for more drainage.
6. Pearson Rd. – work needs to be done in front of Andy Dykstras farm where the road is collapsing. Pike Industries will come in and grind up the tar. The road crew will haul in 3 - 4” of gravel, then Pikes will come in to pave it.
7. Rattlin’ Bridge – Pam Kingman will call the project engineer to find out what the legal load limit should be on the refurbished bridge.

Burt Allen made a motion to move into Executive Session at 8:20 pm, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.

Paul Audy made a motion to come out of Executive Session at 8:50pm, seconded by Burt Allen. All agreed.
