NEW BUSINESS
Visitors Business:
- Greg Walsh and
Laurie Pendergraft - VELCO
Reps. – Deed and Property Transfer paperwork for VELCO ROW
for a single 85ft. steel pole on the small piece of property the Town owns off
Plank Rd.
The Town received $8,816.00 for the ROW. Claire Van Buren notorized all the
signatures. Paul Audy made a motion to sign the Deed and Property Transfer,
seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Claire Van Buren
– Has completed a grant application from HAVA (Help America Vote Act) for a
laptop computer for her to use in the office, she received the grant for
$1,500. The estimate she got from Forte Computer Services is $1,485. Claire
Van Buren asked the selectboard if the amount runs over, would the selectboard
help out. Paul Audy made a motion to pay the amount the grant does not cover,
seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Michelle Litch
– Is a Town Lister currently working on updating all the information on the
tax maps.The work is detailed and time consuming and she is concerned that she
may go over the budget in her hours. Claire Van Buren said that it has been
nice having a Lister in the office more often to help with the many questions
that are asked daily about property values etc. Mrs. Van Buren suggested that
the Lister’s time be increased in the budget next year. Paul Audy made a
motion to allow Michelle Litch to continue with the tax map project, seconded
by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Pam Marsh
– Came on behalf of the Library Trustee’s to see if the selectboard had
received any numbers from Architect, Peter Morris yet. Keith Hall responded
that Mr. Morris is in the process of getting all the numbers together and he
will have them for us soon. Pam Marsh explained that Deborah Lundbech, Town
Librarian has submitted a grant that will help with the cost of the
geo-thermal pump, it won’t cover the whole cost, but every little bit will
help. Pam Kingman said the Fortier’s had been in the Town Office to let us
know they are frustrated that they are having trouble getting someone to
commit to moving the King house. They wanted to let us know they are doing
their best to try to move it.
- Proposed amendment
to the 2005 agreement between the New Haven School District and the Town of
New Haven. The School has hired
one of their staff members to clean the bathrooms everyday after school. Paul
Audy made a motion to sign the agreement, seconded Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Waitsfield Champlain
Valley Telecom - Petition for use
of the Public Right of Way. This is for Wright Stowes’ sub-division on newly
named road, “Stoney Lane”;
which is off of East St. Permission to bury cable from
239 East St.
to Stoney Lane. Paul Audy said he would grant permission as long as Phil
Busier felt no culverts would be disturbed. Paul Audy made a motion to sign
the ROW, but not issue it until we get the okay from Phil Busier, seconded by
Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Addison County
Regional Planning Commission –
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. ACRP is anticipating some grant
money to help towns with creating FEMA accepted mitigation plans. If Addison
County Regional Planning agrees to help the Town; then the Town is responsible
for reimbursing ACRPC $2-4,000 for its help with creating the plans. Paul Audy
made a motion to sign the agreement, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Suzy Roorda
– Request for funds of $300.00 for the
upcoming Towns Halloween Party. She needs to replenish supplies. Paul Audy
made a motion to sign the request, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Suzy Roorda
– Town Hall applications: 1) New Haven
Community Library Fund Raiser – use of the gym and bathrooms on October 27,
2007 from 5pm – 11pm. 2) Community Halloween Party – use of gym and bathrooms
on October 27, 2007 from 11am – 3pm. Paul Audy made a motion to sign both Town
Hall applications for October 27, 2007, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.

CORRESPONDENCE:
- Vermont Rural Fire
Protection Task Force – Wildland Fire Gear Grants:
Forwarded to the New Haven Fire Dept. No action taken.
- State of Vermont Public
Service RE: Peter Holm – application for a wind turbine on his property at
1453 Pearson Rd.
A copy was also mailed to the Planning Commission. No action taken.
REGULAR BUSINESS:
- Road Access Permit for
Harvey and Donna Smith at 2516 Lime Kiln Rd. Paul Audy made a motion to sign
the Road Access Permit, seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
- Pam Kingman informed
the selectboard that Gil Newbury from VTRANS called to say they are looking
into the area in front of Addison County Home Health and Hospice on Route 7,
per request by the selectboard in August 2007.
TREASURERS REPORT:
- Keith Hall made a
motion to accept the Treasurers Report and sign the pay orders, seconded by
Paul Audy. All agreed.
Keith Hall made a motion
to move to executive session at 7:15pm
to discuss some personnel issues, seconded by Paul Audy. All agreed.
Paul Audy made a motion to
adjourn from executive session at 7:30pm,
seconded by Keith Hall. All agreed.
NOTE – The next
Selectboard Meeting will be on
Tuesday October 23, 2007 @ 7:00 pm.
