Read and approve minutes make corrections if needed.
Keith Hall How do we decide on which road will be paved next. Discussion of road plan. Phil Busier would like to have all roads paved. It is expensive to maintain dirt roads. Barb Torian suggest that they have the comparison of cost figures for town meeting.
Jim Collier Does not want to see the town pave Hunt Road. Has a child care business at his house and is worried that the speed of traffic will increase. They walk up and down the road. Family will be safer if the road stays dirt.
John Madden Would like to see Hunt Road remain dirt. Looks like the paving may be postponed.
Visitors Business:
Bev Landon Has issues with items she read in the minutes of Sept. 19th. There was a discussion of removing the brush along the south side of the school by the Johnsons. If you do the research you will find that a fence barrier is required to maintain a separation of the properties. The brush may not be removed. She noticed under Town Hall applications that there are dance and yoga classes and a fee is being paid. This sounds like it is being done for a profit. In the past there is a policy that prohibits use of the town hall for profit.
Roger Boise Evergreen cemetery There are trees that need to come down, it is very expensive to have them removed. Would like to know if the town would budget some money to the cemetery. Betty Bell the association is worried about running out of money. Selectboard will be working on their budget in January. Please submit a request at that time. Or you can submit a petition.
Will sign Plank Road right of way documents on the 31st.
Planning Commission Article for Michael Dunbar petition - Shall the Town of New Haven Amend the future Land Use map of the Town Plan to include lots 689, 688 and 687 on Route 7 in the highway commercial district. Keeping 200 feet deep along Dog Team Road in the Rural Agricultural -2 District.
Selectboard will hold a public hearing in January and warn for Town Meeting.
Burt Allen upset about businesses coming into town and getting violations. We should be welcoming businesses. Wonders if people are making up the laws as they go along.
Keith Hall Continuity of Government meeting Town officials need to provide names of people to willing to take over in case of a pandemic.
