NEW BUSINESS

Shawn Goodfellow - New Holland Tractor – The Town has been trying out a TS 115A plus tractor.  After trade in and discounts it would be $31, 949.00.  He would like to know what the town thinks of the tractor –

Burt Allen - Discussion about the tires not being loaded and town had to load them.   Would also like to look into a tractor from Hendy Brothers.  The tractor worked pretty well, but there was one blind spot.

Roger Boise – Wondered if the town had compared the costs of purchasing vs. the cost of sub contracting the work.

Dean Gilmore – Spoke of sub contractors not doing a very good job, and that it is better to have a tractor and do it yourself, so you can make as many passes as you want.

Paul Audy – Concerned about how busy the road crew is and whether they have time to mow.

Discussion.  No action

Julie Olson – Lives behind the Dog Team.  Thanked the Fire Dept. and said what an amazing job they did.  They are very dedicated and hard working.  She is concerned that there were lots of people hanging around on Saturday and things were being removed from the property.  Was concerned that an individual appeared to be representing the Town and wondered if the Town might be involved.  This would not be good.

Paul Audy – The board was not aware of anyone acting on behalf of the Town; and if there was anything on Town property there was no permission for it to be there and it should be removed.

Discussion of rumors of looting and having called the State Police and Sheriffs Dept. several times by numerous people.

Discussion that it was not the Fire Department’s responsibility to protect the property.  The scene belonged to the police.

development and outline specifications prior to going to a cost estimator.  A contractor should not be part of this process.  Building should go out to bid after all the ground work is done.

Paul Audy – Looking at all the options.  Need to get the most for the money.

Pam Marsh – Would like to see the Library included in the building.  The Library has over 400 new patrons.  There is a lot of support for the Library.  Putting something up for a vote without a Library would further split the town.  Mr. Smiley has put a lot of thought into his plan.  It is very efficient use of the space.

More discussion

Paul Audy – Agrees that the Town should have a Library.  Need to look at all the options and try to get the most for the dollars spent.

Pam Marsh – The current location for the Library has moisture problems, Has had water come in under the door several times this summer.  Is limited in the hours it can be open and is too small of a space.

Discussion of time frame – Not really sure maybe by town meeting.
