NEW BUSINESS
- Betty Bell Riverside Cemetery Would like to continue
to act as Sexton for Riverside Cemetery. Selectboard O.K. will pay $200.00
per year. The gate needs work, she will get an estimate.
- Tim Upton CVPS Transmission lines out of VELCO
7:30 CVPS will need to get a permit to join their power lines to the new
substation. They can use the existing lines and then establish a temporary
line from the old station to the new one. They have also been looking at
alternative routes that might be shorter. So far the land owners along the
way have not been interested in having the lines go through their properties.
They are looking at establishing better reliability in the future by re
establishing and old line through to Weybridge area, in a few years. They
will be getting a 248 permit for the temporary line to the new substation.
This will allow them to expedite the process and there will not be any public
hearings. ( Maps in the zoning file)
- Jerry Smiley Office Space Look at more plans for
potential office building.
Discussion of costs and expansion potential. Discussion of
potential for a Library to be added on. Discussion of what to do with the King
House. Discussion of the school being interested in the space where the current
offices are. Discussion of wood truss or steel truss / building. Still looking
in to cost. Jerry Smiley can continue to work on the drawings. Selectboard
will need to get cost estimates and a structural engineer.
- Al Karnatz Planning / Zoning -8:00 Selectboard is
O.K. with what is being proposed. Would like to see Route 7 as a commercial
district. Discussion of appointments for Planning Commission. Jim Gallott is
willing to serve. Jim Foley is not. Al will continue to look for people who
might be interested. Mike Sweeney and Tori Lathrop were suggestions at one
point. Whoever is appointed needs to understand the work load and be willing
to partake in the rewriting of the Town Plan and Zoning Regulations.
Discussion of selectboard passing a temporary resolution to have the Planning
Commission be able to take action with fewer members. Determined that they
will need to have 4 yes votes for something to move forward. Selectboard will
leave as is.
