 AGENDA: Results

Read and approve minutes make corrections if needed. 

 ROADS

Discuss quotes for new loader – CRW - $109,000.  Milton Cat $115,000.00. Two other companies asked with no response.  3 yard bucket minimum.

 Phil Busier will be working on some policies for snow removal and gravel roads.  Discussion of designing roads for safety being a topic and the last roads meeting. Discussion of non source point pollution grant money from Vermont Local Roads.

Discussion now have several people trapping beavers.

Discussion of rocks in road right of way on South Street, Will put up guardrail to protect area from traffic. Owner will move rocks.  Discussion of liability issues.  Phil Busier would like to have someone from VLCT come and go over road issues with him.

Will order guard rails for Twitchell Hill and South Street.

Discussion of culverts on Roy farm.  Old culvert will be removed and Roy will pay for the new culvert. Phil Busier has spoken with him about correcting the new driveway to meet town specifications. 

Discussion – many new road fabrics are available to help with any type of road condition.

Ø      Intersection of Route 17 and East Street – State is still looking for info on this project. Phil Busier will have it by Friday.  Will need to include the information in next year’s budget.

Discussion on removal of tree by Evergreen Cemetery.  Phil Busier is working on getting someone there. 

Ø      Road Maintenance Schedule and Equipment upgrades for 2006

Ø      Start Budget work

 

NEW BUSINESS

Steve Dupoise attended the Health Officer meeting and they discussed what to do incase of a pandemic.  Example would be a serious case of the flu when many of the first line of response became sick.

Steve and Marcia Dupoise –Have been to the Planning Commission with an application to build another building and found out that the property is not zoned Commercial.  He believes that the Selectboard as the authority to spot zone.  Needs to know what to do next.  The Zoning Administrator will be talking to the Town lawyer on Friday to determine the appropriate action.

Wayne Marcelle - Hills have been dozing into other people’s property.  They have ripped up a Maple tree of his.  Selectboard does not have jurisdiction over this it is a civil matter.

Wayne Marcelle – Would like to budget for the following Town Hall Projects:  Paint Porch, Re do lower section of Gym walls. Doors to upstairs storage room.  Steps in Cafeteria.  He will get estimates.

Discussion of increasing Town Hall usage fees as of January 1st.  Motion to change fees: Cafeteria will be $100.00, Gym will be $125.00 and the Kitchen will be $150.00.  Class usage fee will increase to $25.00 per use. All agree. 

Discussion of job descriptions needed. And the use of work orders.

Discuss how to do ballots for Town Meeting.
