ROAD CREW UPDATE

Phil Busier – Submitted estimates for 1999 int’l truck body replacement.  Body on Scott’s truck is rusting badly and has many leaks.  Body was originally purchased from Vt. Municipal and they have gone out of business.  Arrowhead Equipment $ 24,710.00 and Howard Fairfield $22,990.00.

Currently working on a list of what needs to be done to each road and each piece of equipment.

Corner of Lime Kiln and Plank needs to be extended.  Will ask the power company to move the pole and box located near the intersection in order to make the corner easier to get around.

Requirements for street signs have changed.  May need to get larger road signs for some of the roads by 2012.  (Vt. Local Roads Fall 2004)

Discuss neighboring towns getting together to rent a screen for gravel; this will be cheaper for everyone.

Many other towns have come by to see the new sand/salt shed. Also pictured in Vt. Local Roads.

NEW BUSINESS

We have not received the $1500.00 from the school for the paving done between the buildings.  Will look into.

Lowell Nottingham from the School Board would like the Selectboard to appeal the Common Level of Appraisal (CLA).  The change would add 15 cents to the school tax rate. The CLA dropped from 1.03 to 92.22 percent.

The Listers have already noted a few properties that should be dropped from the study and the selectboard is sending a letter of appeal to the State.  Letter signed by board.

Discuss sidewalk issues for school regarding pending grant administration.  Plenty of time will probably happen over a 3 year period.  Town will do the in kind match of 10%.

Discuss information on reprinting the Town History Book – Will warn article for Town Meeting.

Sign loan documents in anticipation of receiving money from FEMA.

Wayne Marcelle – dog issues.  Beagle on Town Hill Road is showing aggressive tendencies and wondering the neighborhood. Has giving copy of Dog Ordinance and will send a letter.
