NEW BUSINESS

Discuss potentially putting the library in the proposed meeting room of the community center until they can get more money together.  They could potentially raise enough money to pay for a portion of the community center.  Larry Buck will check with Robie Stoner about potential code issues. The Library would want 1200 sq ft which is larger then the current thought of 880.   Discuss moving the house closer to the road and decreasing the parking area in order to not have to move the ball field.  Library would like to get some of the money back if and when they move into there real space.  Library expressed concern for what to do if the renovations don’t happen.

Discuss school taking over the proposed project in front of the school.  Need to let people know what is going on.  It will be cheaper to do it all at once.  It is hard to show a projection for the future, might be able to get a map showing population density now, then and in the future.

Discuss personnel issues with librarians.

Harvey Smith – Has spoken with the governor regarding the VELCO project. State offices do not think the project will be stopped. But, encourage the town to be involved in the process.  Public Service Board is required to look at town’s position but they can ignore them.  Discuss whether the state is looking at legislation to solve energy problems.  They are working on some policy. Discuss conservation possibilities.  Discuss Septic issues and legislation.
