Special Town Meeting Warning

Town of New Haven, Vermont

            The legal voters of the Town of New Haven are hereby warned and notified to meet at the Town Hall in New Haven, Vermont on Monday evening the 16^th of May  2005, at 7:30 PM to act on Articles 1through 4.

Article 1:    Shall the voters of the Town of New Haven vote to request the         Select Board to direct that Esquire James Dumont submit notice to                 VELCO that the Town would withdraw their appeal provided VELCO agrees and is legally bound under all applicable laws to move the substation and underground the power lines across and in the area of Route 17? 

DEFEATED

Article 2:        Shall the Town of New Haven adopt the general fund budget and the road budget by Australian Ballot and vote all other monetary items above $5,000.00 by Australian Ballot while continuing those requested by various outside agencies on Australian Ballot thereby empowering more than the usual 4 to 15 percent of voters presently making these decisions.

 Article 3:        Shall the voters of the Town of New Haven vote to authorize the Select Board to purchase a T.V. for not more than $3,000.00? 

The T.V. will be used for a Community Projects fund raiser raffle.  Purchase price to be repaid from proceeds of raffle.

PASSED

 Article 4:        To transact, vote and act upon any further non-binding business which may legally come before this meeting.
